Meet the team: Lucy

Hey everyone I am Lucy, I am the Co-Founder of Inner Order. I am based in Brentwood, Essex. I grew up in Chelmsford with my mum and brother and back home I have 5 cats.

My story

Let me tell you a little bit of my story and how I got into the organising world. I struggled a lot as a teenager with my mental health and my interest in organising and maintain my bedroom and living space enabled me to improve my mental health. For me, it's the incredible mental health benefits I've always experienced. Organising has been a powerful tool in bringing clarity and peace to my life, and I’m passionate about helping others who might be struggling to find the same sense of calm and control.

My journey into organising

My passion for organisation began in my teenage years. I started by labelling and colour-coding my school books, and to gradually teaching myself to declutter my wardrobe, understanding how many clothes I truly need. It’s been a gradual journey toward efficiency.

I started professional organising last year, helping out family and friends and then Emily and I founded Inner Order in December 2023.

Lucy at Inner Order:

“I love organising as for me, it’s about more than just mental clarity—functionality is key. When everything has its place and my space is organised with purpose, daily tasks have always become easier and more efficient for me. This has saved me a huge amount of time, has reduced my stress levels. A functional, well-organised environment has enabled me to provide a sense of control and has made my day-to-day routine smoother and more enjoyable.”

What type of clients do you take on?

When it comes to the type of people I can help I’m dedicated to supporting those who are struggling with clutter and disorganisation. My ideal client is someone who feels overwhelmed and needs a helping hand. I can relate deeply because I’ve been in their shoes, and I understand firsthand how challenging it can be. By drawing on my personal experiences, I’m able to offer not just practical solutions, but genuine reassurance and empathy. My goal is to use what I’ve learned to help others find the clarity and order they need to transform their lives.

How am I different from other organisers?

I blend my organising expertise with a deep understanding of mental health challenges. I also have a degree in Graphic design and therefore have always benefited from having a creative eye and being able to visual a functional, declutter or organised space before it has even happened! Having felt the impact of clutter myself, I offer a compassionate, tailored approach that focuses on both practical and emotional benefits. I create functional, uplifting spaces and understand that being organised doesn’t always mean everything has to look perfect—functionality and realism are key.

Why Inner Order? what are we trying to accomplish?

Myself and Emily have always said we want Inner Order to be an educational platform as well as providing an organising and decluttering service. We want people to learn from us! We want to raise awareness on how organising can truly transform lives by making everyday tasks easier and reducing stress. My goal is to help people understand that a well-organised space isn't just about tidiness - it's about creating a calm and functional environment that supports their well-being and happiness.

Long term goal is for Inner Order to have a podcast and to collaborate with a mental health charity. Would be a great to eventually be #1 Professional Organising Educational platform in the UK too.
