Meet the team: Emily

Hi everyone, it’s Emily here—the other half of Inner Order! I’m based just outside Ely, Cambridgeshire, and I’ve lived in this area my whole life.

My story

Let me share a bit of my story: I grew up in a lively, sometimes chaotic, but fun household because my mum worked as a childminder. This meant I always had friends around to play with (which was great), but I often felt overwhelmed by the mess and toys. I loved spending time in my bedroom, and I was the type of kid who would rearrange the furniture every six months and beg my dad to repaint my room a new shade of pink.

Fast forward to 25-year-old me, where I’ve discovered a real passion for organising and all things interior design. It’s perfect timing, as I’m about to move into my own home (away from the chaos of the kids) and I can’t wait to start designing and organising my new spaces!

Why choose organising?

It might sound cheesy, but I honestly feel like organising chose me! Let me explain: during my GCSEs, I discovered graphic design and became completely obsessed with it. I was sure I had found my dream career. For the next eight years, I followed the path—studying, building my portfolio, and eventually landing my first "big-girl" job in London. It seemed like everything was falling into place.

But something didn’t feel right. The passion I once had for graphic design started to fade, and despite achieving what I thought was my goal, I wasn’t truly happy. That’s when I started to notice how much I enjoyed organising my own space. One day, I decided to tackle decluttering our family home, and something clicked—I loved every minute of it. It was so satisfying to bring order to the chaos, and that’s when I realised I had found something that truly sparked joy.

Fast forward to the end of 2023, and that passion turned into reality when I started this wonderful business with Lucy. Now, I’m doing what I love every day, and I couldn’t be happier!

What type of clients do you take on?

I want to help anyone who’s feeling overwhelmed by disorganisation and clutter in their home, even if all they need is an extra pair of hands! For me, organising comes naturally, but I fully understand that it doesn’t for everyone—and that’s okay. Life can be busy, and whether it’s due to a hectic work schedule, caring for family, or simply not knowing where to start, clutter can easily build up.

That’s where Inner Order comes in. Some clients don’t need help because they lack the ability to organise, but rather because they lack the time. I’m more than happy to step in and take on those tasks for them, whether it’s sorting through piles of paperwork, decluttering a room, or creating a system that works for their daily life. My goal is to make their homes feel like a place of calm and order again, giving them the freedom to focus on what matters most.

How am I different from other organisers?

What sets me apart from other organisers is my approach to creating practical, tailored solutions. I take the time to truly understand how my clients use their space, ensuring that it doesn’t just look good but that it’s functional for their everyday lives. Plus, I always bring a positive attitude and love a good chat—there’s never a dull moment when we’re working together!

Why Inner Order? what are we trying to accomplish?

We want our clients to gain the confidence to live the clutter-free life they deserve! At the end of the day, Lucy and I just want to help others. We believe that small changes can make a big difference, and that’s exactly what Inner Order aims to do in the Professional Organising industry. We’re only just getting started, and I’m so excited to see what’s to come!
